We invite principals and district leaders to join us for a research-based session on the critical need to differentiate code and meaning-focused instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Participants will gain insights into the importance of word recognition and language comprehension and the power of matching instructional strategies to the specific learning needs of each child. Anchored in Scarborough's Reading Rope and the Simple View of Reading, this session will explore how to effectively implement teacher-managed and child-managed instruction. We will highlight that not all small groups are created equally and discuss strategies to support teachers looking to target instruction.
